Job overview/purpose

The Receptionist & Program Assistant is a pivotal part of the administrative team. This position is a dual role that provides general administrative duties, projects, other essential task for the front office, CEO, AT&T and Student Services Units.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately.
  • Notifies company personnel of visitor arrival.
  • Answering, screening and forwarding incoming phone calls.
  • Informs visitors by answering or referring inquiries.
  • Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories.
  • Maintains security by following procedures, monitoring logbook, and issuing visitor badges.
  • Keeps a safe and clean reception/lobby area by complying with health and safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Responds to inquiries and requests for information requiring knowledge of departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Performs administrative duties associated with scheduling and coordinating meetings and planning events.
  • Ensures confidentiality and controls access to sensitive information
  • Coordinates preparation, development and production of major documents, such as proposals and manuscripts.
  • Receives and sorts daily mail.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.



Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma and/or Associates Degree Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
  • Minimum Experience: 2 Years
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Secretarial or specialized clerical, including some administrative experience.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred Experience: 3 Years
  • Preferred Field of Expertise: Combined secretarial and administrative experience in a business environment

Working conditions


This position is based in Washington, D.C. and requires frequent travel within the District and the surrounding counties, attendance to networking and community events, and evening and weekend hours.



Physical requirements


For this position, the incumbent maybe required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis (approximately 25 lbs.) and do repetitive tasks with few breaks.
