We are currently looking to fill a Psychiatric Prescriber role at our Merrionette Park Center.

SALARY:

  • The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $271,600 and $300,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.

$2,500 Sign-on Bonus for first-time employees with MFS! ($1,250 on the first paycheck and $1,250 after 6 months of employment).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Conducts comprehensive, in-depth psychiatric evaluations for patients enrolled in the program.
  • Provides ongoing medication management Medication Assisted Recovery (MAR) to assigned patients at a minimum of every 90 days.
  • Provides oversight of assigned patient population within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Coordinates with a nurse for patients needing injections.
  • Orders and reviews lab work minimally 1-2x/year and as needed for patients.
  • Communicates with other members of the care team as needed.
  • Participates in clinical staffing with supervisors and behavioral health team members.
  • Participates in staff training and development as requested
  • Meets agency expectations for quality and quantity of direct service.
  • Assists in program development related to psychiatric care of patients.
  • Complies with agency documentation standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

    • Psychiatric Prescribers must carry personal liability insurance coverage

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Candidates must possess an MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school and be Board Certified in General Psychiatry, or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)/ Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP-BC)
    • Candidate must participate in CME activities as mandated by Maintenance of Certification requirements.
    • Candidate must be currently licensed to practice in Illinois and possess a current Illinois Mid-Level Practitioner Controlled Substance License and federal DEA number (if an APRN) or medical license and an IL and federal DEA controlled substance license
    • 2+ years of experience working with adults, children/adolescents or older adults
    • Preferred Training and Certifications:
      • Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship and/or subspecialty Addiction Psychiatry Certification, or
      • Completion of an accredited Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, Board Eligible or Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), or
      • Completion of a one-year ACGME-accredited geriatric psychiatry fellowship, providing specialized training in treating older adults or Board certified or board eligible in Geriatric Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).

          ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

          • Satisfactorily pass all relevant screening and criminal background checks.

          TRANSPORTATION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

          • Driving is not required

          PHYSICAL DEMANDS

          • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
