Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will troubleshoot day-to-day process problems, implement creative solutions, and validate the effectiveness of changes. You will identify root causes and implement corrective actions to enhance safety, quality, velocity, and cost efficiency. You will also support the New Product Introduction process to ensure timely release and processing of engineering drawings, aligning assembly processes with manufacturing requirements.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day process problems, implementing and validating solutions.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to improve safety, quality, velocity, and cost.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure timely release and processing of engineering drawings.
- Develop, implement, and maintain shop floor processes, including managing standard work, routings/work instructions, BOM/MBOM, ergonomic requirements, and tooling.
- Analyze and recommend systems, procedures, training, and equipment needs based on communication with shop floor users and Operations staff.
- Manage expense and capital requirements related to assembly areas, NPI, product capacity increases, equipment replacement, and continuous process improvement.
- Improve value stream metrics through process improvement activities.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the value stream for assembly processes.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience as a manufacturing engineer in an assembly manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, process engineering, engineering technology, or a related field.
- Experience with vision systems, automation/robotics, AutoCAD, PFMEA, vision systems, DC tools, and gauges.
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, in-process validations (IPVs), Poka-Yoke design, and system/tooling controls.
- Ability to learn and manage new computer systems such as VPPA, MESA, Capp+, and PINpoint.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- CAD experience.
- Prior manufacturing engineering experience at assembly manufacturing companies.
- Exposure to manufacturing processes, with assembly experience being advantageous.
- Experience in process or industrial backgrounds.
- Experience working with gauges is a nice-to-have.

This role operates on the 1st shift.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of East Peoria, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
