Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Canteen/Nutritionist to join our team at the Boys and Girls Club of Bluffton. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the canteen, ensuring compliance with food service regulations, and providing nutritional guidance to our members. This role requires a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with children.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Able to keep up in a fast-paced work environment
- Knowledge of food service regulations
- Able to stay on your feet for an extended period of time and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Willing to work a flexible schedule
Responsibilities:
- Provide attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Utilize basic math skills for inventory and transactions
- Communicate clearly and effectively with staff and members
- Resolve conflicts and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain a positive attitude and attend health regulation trainings and staff meetings
Food Server Duties:
- Count children as they enter the canteen area
- Serve children while wearing a hair net and gloves
- Deep clean the canteen area regularly
- Have a valid driver's license to retrieve food from separate locations
- Use basic computer skills to order food and manage inventory
- Enjoy working around children and provide basic cooking classes to children ages 6-18
- Greet members warmly and direct them to their tables
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM during the school year
- 8 hours a day during summer and other peak seasons
