This contract position is based in Washington Navy Yard, DC, for the 2025-2026 school year and involves working closely with a small caseload of 5-10 students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid state certification or licensure in Special Education
  • Experience working with elementary-age students, particularly in inclusive settings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Proficiency in providing both push-in and pull-out services

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate students to develop and implement tailored IEPs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Provide direct support to students through push-in and pull-out services
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and documentation as required
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student development
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
