Job DescriptionSenior Accountant

Your Mission

As a Senior Accountant based in Houston, you will play a pivotal role in managing and reconciling financial accounts, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting month-end, quarterly, and year-end closes. You will be responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling payroll and benefits accounts, and compiling financial statement data for consolidated reporting. Your expertise in SAP, particularly S4 HANA, and familiarity with various financial software packages will be crucial in executing your duties effectively. This temporary position offers the potential for permanent employment.

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts after month-end entries are posted
  • Prepare journal entries for payroll and benefits accruals, reversals, and adjustments
  • Monitor cost centers for payroll/benefits expenses and investigate budget variances
  • Assist with coding invoices and researching payroll-related entries
  • Prepare financial statement data for consolidated reporting
  • Correspond with stakeholders to ensure payroll and benefits readiness for month-end close
  • Assist with audits and third-party requests
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and ledger structure
  • Compile and report key business metrics

Your Profile

  • BS degree in Accounting
  • 5-10 years of accounting experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and initiative
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under time constraints and manage multiple tasks
  • Good leadership qualities
  • Experience in manufacturing accounting and using SAP in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Familiarity with UKG (UltiPro) and various financial software packages, including Business Warehouse and PowerBI (a plus)

Salary Information

  • Hourly pay rate: $40.00 - $52.00
  • Salary when permanent: $89,000 - $110,000
