CAD Manager responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain company-wide CAD standards in accordance with FDOT, IDOT, and MnDOT guidelines.
- Support the development and upkeep of the Corporate and Local Detail Libraries.
- Implement and promote standards and workflows within Open Roads Designer (ORD) to facilitate collaboration across multiple offices.
- Beta test new software, updates, and add-ons before company-wide deployment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and workflow issues encountered during daily operations.
- Establish and enforce drawing standards and protocols.
- Develop and standardize E-Field booking programming processes.
- Participate in user groups to ensure the team employs efficient software usage practices.
- Create renderings and project simulations to support project presentations.
- Provide application support and manage knowledge resources.
- Lead training sessions to enhance team proficiency.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of production CAD experience, with a focus on transportation projects, including coordination with models and drawings from multiple disciplines.
- Two-year technical degree preferred.
- Proficiency with Open Roads Designer (ORD) and MicroStation is required.
- Production-work capable within a specific discipline.
- Familiarity with National CAD Standard documents is a plus.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills are desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
