Job Description

WHY YOU WANT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We’re seeking a CNC Automation Programmer to take the lead in automating fabrication processes for architectural metal products. You’ll work with Emmegi and Elumatec CNC equipment, using tools such as Softech V6, AutoCAD, Elucad, CSV flat files, and new CNC software as we continue to expand capabilities.

This is a hands-on role reporting to the Automation Manager, where you’ll be responsible for creating fabrication packages, programming multiple-axis machining centers, and driving automation to replace manual processes.

This is your chance to step into a process-improvement leadership role where your expertise directly impacts efficiency, cost savings, and the future of automation in architectural fabrication. You’ll be at the forefront of implementing new technology and shaping the way we deliver.

YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Develop CNC programs and machining processes for aluminum extrusions.
  • Provide quick-turnaround support for manufacturing architectural metal products.
  • Analyze part drawings, sketches, and design data to create efficient machining solutions.
  • Test, debug, and improve CNC programs for productivity, cost savings, and machine time reduction.
  • Collaborate with design teams on manufacturability and automation improvements.
  • Train and support CNC operators, ensuring knowledge transfer across the team.
  • Write setup sheets, tool lists, and technical instructions for production operators.
  • Provide input into future CNC equipment purchases.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

  • Proven experience as a CNC programming and machining experience (Tool & Die, Machinist, NIMS certification, or equivalent training).
  • Hands-on knowledge of CNC machining, programming, and multi-axis machining centers.
  • Experience in the glass and glazing industry (strongly preferred) or aluminum fabrication.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize for efficiency, quality, and cost savings.
  • Experience training operators and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
