In this role, you will work closely with a student in a life skills program, providing vital academic and personal care support.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a related educational support role strongly desired
- Licensure as a Paraprofessional, LNA, or CNA preferred (District is open to candidates with relevant credentials)
- Compassionate, reliable, and comfortable assisting with toileting plans and positioning for a student with physical or developmental needs
- Familiarity with academic support for students in a life skills or special education classroom
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow individualized student care plans
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, students, and families
Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive 1:1 academic support to a student in the life skills program
- Assist with personal care needs, including toileting and positioning, following the established care plan
- Facilitate student engagement and participation in classroom activities
- Work closely with teachers and specialists to implement individualized education plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of support provided
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
