Description:
The Internal Controls Analyst is responsible for supporting Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) within the Controllership
function. This position will work with Senior Internal Control Analysts and Internal Controls Manager to assess internal control design, testing
control operating effectiveness, and partner with functional area owners to develop value-added recommendations to improve the internal
control environment within the department. The Internal Controls Analyst will serve as a resource in the advancement of the ICFR program
and have an opportunity to learn about the Pharmacy Benefit Management process/controls.
Responsibilities
Assist Senior Internal Control Analysts in developing new ICFR process flows, narratives, SIPOC models, and Risk Control
Matrices
•Monitor existing internal control cycles and update ICFR process flows, narratives, SIPOC models, and Risk Control Matrices
accordingly
•Identify, assess, monitor, and test key internal controls in accordance with the ICFR program
Assist in development of collaborative, value-added recommendations to mitigate residual risk by partnering with functional
area owners and Senior Internal Control Analysts
•Complete reporting related to controls assessments, providing periodic updates to Senior Internal Control
Analysts/Management related to controls assessments, improvement opportunities and status for remediation of identified
improvement opportunities
• Assist with internal control related requests from functional area owners
• Assist in external financial statement audit
Partner with functional area owners and Senior Internal Control Analysts to ensure changes to processes or systems are
identified and assessed for appropriate control structures
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or
relevant work experience HS diploma or GED is required
2 years of relevant experience which includes but is not limited to ICFR, Internal Controls, Compliance, or Audit
Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
• Knowledge of internal controls
• Intermediate GAAP understanding
• Demonstrated critical thinking and analysis skills
• Collaborative approach with the ability to effectively communicate with a customer service approach
• Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to meet established deadlines
• Skilled in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with a Big 4 accounting firm
• Experience assessing controls within a Sarbanes-Oxley environment
• Previous experience with ERP systems
• SAP experience
• Knowledge of process improvement, lean six sigma, or project management experience
• Managed healthcare, health insurance, or other highly regulated industry
• Relevant Certifications (e.g. CIA, CPA, CFE, CISA)
