Hours of Job
- Full Time - 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
- Hours may occasionally vary based on departmental needs.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Performs all procedures related to the decontamination, processing, storage, and transportation of instruments and supplies.
- Coordinates and obtains necessary instrumentation and supplies from external vendors.
- Supports the work area by assisting in scheduling tasks and procedures for on-call surgery cases.
- Assists in patient transportation and OR room turn-over to facilitate patient flow.
- Use of cleaning and processing equipment.
- Package, label and load for sterile or terminal processing.
Requirements
- Must be able to work flexible hours depending on the needs of the department.
- Must participate in on-call schedule.
- Ability to concentrate for long periods of time, work independently, and exercise good judgment.
Education/Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Required to obtain Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Certification within 12 months of employment.
- Maintains CRCST status via ongoing clinical education requirements.
Experience
- Previous experience preferred, but willing to train.
- Must be able to complete training programs.
