The Manufacturing Engineer will interpret specifications, perform set-up procedures, and monitor the machinery to ensure the products meet customer requirements. Make critical contributions to the company’s reputation, ensuring the excellence of the products by following inspection protocols and determining our products meet established quality standards.
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
- Work on product sustainment, evaluate/develop assembly processes and general manufacturing support.
- Prepare assembly readiness documentation, create manufacturing layouts, and participate in building prototype products.
- Design methods for testing product capabilities and troubleshooting
- Ensure that design testing, implementation, and maintenance processes are executed according to company quality standards.
- Participate in regularly scheduled department meetings to report on project status.
- Responsible for the design, development, and manufacture of R&D Prototypes
- Support Manufacturing equipment through Preventative Maintenance
- Developing and executing project/product deliverables – project plans, specifications, documents, third party resourcing and drawings
- Identify providers of parts and components for system automation, external manufacturers, and prototyping.
- Lead manufacturing process improvement activities: tools, work instruction, automation, etc.
- Support Machining activities through programming, setup, operation, and training of operators.
Manufacturing Engineer Requirements:
- Five or more years of experience in machining environment and manufacturing or 3 or more years at a junior-level Mechanical Engineer
- Working knowledge of core engineering concepts, including mechanics and product manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of machine shop equipment and processes (HAAS milling and lathe equipment, Swiss type machining equipment is preferred).
- Proven success in product manufacturing and continuous improvements.
- Strong ability with computer-aided systems, such as CAD, CAM, and CAE for model creation and programming of CNC equipment.
- Knowledge of machining equipment, manufacturing processes, and other mechanical engineering concepts
- Analyze mechanical problems and produce innovative solutions using multiple fabrication and material methods, including injection molding, and machined components.
- Participate in product development from design to implementation, monitoring status of all processes and documenting the product progress.
- Evaluate mechanical designs for potential flaws and offer modifications to eliminate them.
- Requires hands-on participation as well as attention to detail.
