Job Description

Our client is an industry leader in the research, development, and production of high-quality dietary supplements and nutritional products. They are now looking for a Formulation Scientist.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$60k - $70k

Position Overview:
The Formulation Scientist will lead the formulation and optimization of new and existing dietary supplements. This position is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced R&D environment. The Formulation Scientist will manage formulation development from concept through scale-up, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities of the Formulation Scientist:

  • Develop and optimize product formulations which could include powders, capsules, tablets, gummies, and syrups.
  • Support new product launches by leading formulation design, testing, and analytical evaluations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and improve processes.
  • Qualify new raw materials and work with suppliers.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and documentation accuracy.
  • Conduct benchtop, pilot, and scale-up trials.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory and process equipment.
  • Ensure product compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, and all relevant quality standards.
  • Maintain lab inventory, perform equipment sanitation, and ensure an organized, safe working environment.

Required Experience/Skills for the Formulation Scientist:

  • 1+ years of experience in the dietary supplement, nutritional, food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with product formulation and dosage form development (tablets, capsules, powders).

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Formulation Scientist:

  • 2 years of experience in the dietary supplement, nutritional, food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced R&D setting.
  • Familiarity with analytical testing methods, stability studies, and scale-up procedures.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related science is preferred for the Formulation Scientist.
