Position Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for end-to-end manufacturing operations of window film products, including automotive, residential, and commercial film lines. This role oversees production planning, coating/lamination processes, slitting, packaging, quality control, inventory coordination, and workforce management to ensure operational efficiency, cost control, and on-time delivery.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical manufacturing knowledge (adhesives, PET films, coating processes, IR/UV technologies) with Lean operations leadership and KPI-driven execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Operations Leadership
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations including:

- Coating and lamination lines
- Slitting and converting
- Adhesive application
- Roll finishing and packaging
- Ensure production schedules align with sales forecasts and inventory requirements.
- Maintain on-time production and shipment targets.
2. Process Optimization & Yield Improvement
- Monitor and improve:

- Film yield percentages
- Scrap rate
- Downtime metrics
- Labor productivity
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Reduce material waste (PET base film, adhesives, metallized layers).
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure product performance meets specifications:

- IR rejection
- UV rejection
- VLT accuracy
- Adhesion strength
- Optical clarity
- Work closely with QA to maintain ISO or internal quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve production defects and field claims.
4. Workforce Management
- Lead, train, and develop production supervisors and line operators.
- Implement performance metrics and accountability systems.
- Maintain safe work environment (OSHA compliance).
5. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate with procurement on:

- Adhesives
- Release liners
- Packaging materials
- Maintain optimal raw material and finished goods levels.
- Reduce slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
6. Financial & KPI Oversight
- Manage manufacturing budget.
- Monitor:

- Cost per square foot produced
- Labor cost %
- OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- On-time production rate
- Identify cost-saving opportunities.
7. Equipment & Maintenance Oversight
- Ensure preventive maintenance programs are followed.
- Coordinate with maintenance team to minimize downtime.
- Evaluate new equipment investments (coating lines, slitters, automation).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years manufacturing leadership experience.
- Experience in:

- Adhesive lamination
- Converting/slitting operations
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica or similar).
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in window film, automotive film, or specialty coatings.
- Knowledge of nano-ceramic or metallized film technologies.
- Six Sigma or Lean certification.
- Experience managing 20+ production employees.
