Job DescriptionWe're searching for a full-time, certified home inspector to evaluate properties and make sure they are up to code! You’ll assess all aspects of the home, take note of any damages that need to be repaired, and provide a full report for every client. $50,000 - $65,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
- Go through residential homes top to bottom to evaluate any repairs that need to be made
- Coordinate with the homeowner’s real estate agent to arrange for access to the property
- Flag specific repairs that might be needed, so homeowners can improve the property before it is sold
- Keep clients updated and promptly respond to requests so customers feel informed
- Draft a comprehensive report, with photographs, to help home buyers and sellers understand exactly what the inspection revealed
- Conduct thorough residential home inspections following company standards and applicable guidelines
- Create detailed and professional inspection reports using industry-leading software (Spectora)
- Communicate findings clearly and effectively to clients, addressing questions and providing guidance
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, real estate agents, and other stakeholders
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards as outlined by InterNACHI
- Utilize specialized tools and techniques as needed
- Maintain reliable transportation for traveling to inspection sites within the Twin Cities and surrounding areas
- Uphold Due North’s commitment to exceptional service, professionalism, and accuracy
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and able to travel by car
- Comfortable walking on roofs and climbing in confined spaces, such as attics or crawl spaces
- Well-acquainted with basic computer programs and email applications
- Experience with residential property maintenance, including plumbing, electric wiring, HVAC systems, security alarms, and more
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills are a must
- Certification: Active certification as a professional home inspector, ideally with InterNACHI or similar recognized bodies
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience performing residential home inspections with demonstrable references and client reviews
- Proficient with home inspection tools and reporting software, experience with Spectora is a big plus!
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with clients and agents
- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and document issues accurately
