OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our fast-paced and dynamic team! This role offers a unique opportunity to cross-train in both basic rooming and infusion duties, providing a diverse and challenging work experience. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing charts, rooming patients, taking vital signs, triaging calls, managing prescriptions, and maintaining a clean and organized patient environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review patient charts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Room patients, complete intake forms, and accurately document patient medical information
- Take vital signs and assist with patient exams and procedures
- Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling tests and providing patient education
- Triage patient phone calls and messages promptly and appropriately
- Monitor and process prescription requests, maintaining accurate logs
- Manage and communicate diagnostic testing results to patients as directed
- Maintain patient exam rooms and infusion areas in a clean and sanitary condition
- Manage medical and pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring adequate supplies
- Maintain medical equipment, including cleaning and preventative maintenance
- Review, count, and log infusion medications and supplies
- Prepare for, assess, and treat potential patient side effects during infusions
- Communicate patient progress to physicians
- Schedule and manage appointments for infusion patients
- Spike IV tubing and monitor IV pumps
- Sterilize and clean the infusion area
- Print reaction summaries and call patients post infusion
- Other tasks as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Minimum of 6 months of Medical Assistant experience in a medical office setting
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
- Phlebotomy skills a plus (specifically for infusion duties)
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Experience with IV pumps, and blood pressure cuffs
- Ability to use telephone, fax machine, computer, and copy machine
Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:30AM - 4:00PM)
Compensation: $20.00 - $28.00 Hourly
