Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. This contract position offers the opportunity to showcase your expertise in accounting while ensuring a seamless transition into a long-term role. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting operational processes within the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Reconcile accounts and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures to meet reporting deadlines.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable transactions with precision.
• Assist in tracking job costs and handling project-specific accounting tasks.
• Compile financial reports and provide necessary documentation for audits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize accounting processes and systems.
• Utilize Viewpoint Vista software for financial operations and reporting.• Proficiency in corporate tax preparation, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.
• Strong skills in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
• Experience with bank reconciliations and month-end close activities.
• Familiarity with Viewpoint Vista accounting software is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of job cost tracking and project accounting within the construction industry.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to a Contract to permanent employment arrangement and demonstrate long-term potential.
