Job Description
As a Technical Operator I, you will operate assigned processes and equipment in accordance with work instructions. You will support production volumes and quality under the production plan, utilizing equipment and computerized systems to produce, assemble, evaluate, process, and package lithium-ion batteries in a climate-controlled environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare equipment and materials for production.
- Operate equipment in accordance with the OP Manual, input materials, and monitor defects/loss for continuous self-inspection of the product and quality checks.
- Maintain accurate records of production work in the Global Manufacturing Execution System (GMES).
- Track all non-conformances and scraps.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and fire regulations.
- Perform 5S audits, maintain production logs, quality checks, and maintenance work logs.
- Maintain cleanliness at the worksite in accordance with 5S principles: Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.
- Follow existing cleaning SOPs during downtime, which includes cleaning your designated machine and/or surrounding work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- 1-3+ years of manufacturing experience (production, assembly, machine operation, warehouse, etc.).
- Computer literacy.
- Effective communication skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Basic arithmetic ability.
- Strong reading and writing skills.
- Ability to work well with individuals and teams to meet and exceed expectations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Must be able to properly and regularly utilize PPE for a period of up to 12 hours, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, nitrile gloves, and a clean room suit.
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly for up to 12 hours.
- Ability to stoop, twist, reach overhead, sit and/or stand, and use hands and fingers to perform job functions.

Work Environment
The facility develops and manufactures large lithium-ion polymer batteries and packs for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage applications. The environment is meticulously clean, temperature-controlled, and brightly lit, with a strong emphasis on 5S principles. Expect to do a lot of walking across the expansive facility, which includes clean rooms requiring specific attire such as garb and beard nets if applicable.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
