POSITION SUMMARY

The Dietitian is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing nutritional services for clients enrolled in PHRI programs, with a focus on those in recovery from substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. This role provides nutritional education, meal planning guidance, and works closely with clinical and residential staff to ensure clients’ dietary needs are met in a safe, respectful, and culturally competent manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct individual nutrition assessments and develop personalized care plans.
  • Provide group and one-on-one nutritional counseling, including education on healthy eating habits, food preparation, and recovery-specific dietary considerations.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff or vendors to ensure meals served meet client needs and support recovery goals.
  • Educate staff and clients on nutrition-related health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and eating disorders.
  • Monitor clients’ progress toward nutritional goals and modify care plans as needed.
  • Document assessments, recommendations, and outcomes in EMR system.
  • Stay updated on best practices related to addiction recovery and nutrition.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal nutrition guidelines.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and care coordination discussions..

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field required; master’s preferred.
  • Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential and DC licensure required.
  • 2+ years of clinical experience, preferably with underserved or behavioral health populations.
  • Knowledge of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care models.
  • Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe) and various business software.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.A.
