Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, including completion of a dietetic internship.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), or RD-eligible with successful completion of the RD exam within three months of hire.

Preferred Skills and Experience

- Familiarity with inborn errors of metabolism and/or pediatric nutrition.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Accurate nutrient calculations and data analysis skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Position Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Nutrition, the Dietitian provides high-quality nutrition care and education to patients and their families. This role involves assessing nutritional status, developing and implementing appropriate nutrition therapy, and supporting patient-focused care within assigned units while adhering to hospital and departmental standards, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities

- Evaluate patients' nutritional status by reviewing electronic medical records and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Apply nutrition screening and assessment principles to determine patient-specific nutritional needs.
- Document all pertinent findings in the medical record in accordance with policy.
- Provide nutrition counseling to patients and family members as appropriate.
- Develop, evaluate, and modify nutrition care plans based on patient response and clinical judgment.
- Assess and recommend enteral and parenteral nutrition support as needed.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Assist with discharge planning when required.
- Precept dietetic interns, provide instruction, and contribute to student evaluations.
- Participate in community-focused nutrition education programs.
