Summary/Objective

This position highly prefers someone with Medicare DME experience. The position entails communicating with Patients, Account Managers, Referral Sources (Doctor’s office, Case Managers, Nurses, etc.) with a high level of customer service.

Must have strong knowledge of insurance eligibility verification process; know how to calculate deductibles and coinsurance for primary and secondary policies.

Strong background in Medicare, Medicaid and Private Insurance documentation requirements.

An in-depth knowledge regarding compliance standards.

Strong multitasking and prioritizing tasks with great organization and detail is required. Collaborate strongly with co-workers in a team setting.

Essential Functions/Job Duties

  • Contacts patients to introduce themselves and the company and assures that the customer understands the process involved in processing their initial order for Medical Supplies.
  • Advises patient that they are their Patient Care Coordinator and will be acting on their behalf to assure the smooth processing of their order.
  • Facilitates communication between the patient, third party payers, distributors, Doctors, Nurses, Case Managers, Account Managers and others as required to meet the patient’s needs and expectations.
  • Assures that patients paperwork is completed and received quickly, and orders are processed in a timely manner by communicating regularly with the responsible parties.
  • Enters and maintains accurate and up to date information in Brightree.
  • Responds to patient inquiries, requests, and complaints in a timely manner working with other staff members.
  • Explains insurance requirements needed to qualify for specific products.


Required skills

  • Medicare DME experience preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred not required).
  • Experience recognizing the needs and concerns of individuals.
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
  • Professional telephone & email etiquette.
  • Able to work in fast-paced, self-directed environment.
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management skills.
  • Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.
  • Responds well to multitasking while providing exceptional customer service, support and response.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Highschool Diploma
  • Bilingual is preferred but not required
