We’re hiring a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to lead the design and development of highly advanced Special Flight Test Instrumentation (SFTI) systems. This role blends deep technical expertise with innovation—supporting complex aircraft test operations through cutting-edge data acquisition and processing solutions. You’ll serve as a trusted authority on SFTI hardware and software, helping shape how data is captured, managed, and used in flight testing environments.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, development, construction, and testing of advanced SFTI systems and subsystems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data processing for flight test instrumentation systems.
- Conduct research and development of new hardware and software to support flight data operations.
- Investigate and assess commercial hardware solutions to enhance aircraft data acquisition capabilities.
- Advise customer leadership and senior stakeholders on complex technical issues related to aircraft testing and data systems.
- Develop and oversee procedures that enable teams to perform accurate post-flight data processing.
- Apply deep knowledge of airborne data acquisition systems and data processing theory to real-world flight test operations.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- At least 10 years of engineering experience, including:
- 3+ years supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
- Specialized expertise in SFTI systems and data processing technologies.
- Proven ability to lead innovation in instrumentation and flight data systems.
- Strong advisory and communication skills for working with leadership-level stakeholders.
- Active Secret clearance.
