The Speech & Hearing Center is looking for an audiologist who will be responsible for diagnostic hearing evaluations, as well as hearing aid dispensing and follow-up care. The Center’s newborn hearing screening and OSHA hearing conservation programs are also the responsibility of this position.


Qualifications:

  1. Au.D. or Master's degree in audiology
  2. ASHA certificate of clinical competence
  3. Current hearing aid dispensing and audiology licensure
  4. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including strong customer service mindset
  5. Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office business suite and TIMS practice management software or similar
  6. Proficiency with variety of hearing aid manufacturer software and hardware
  7. Proven track record in hearing aid sales
  8. Connection to the mission of serving those with hearing and/or communication disorders


Job Responsibilities Include:

Administration

  • Responsible for management and scheduling of department
  • Accountable for hearing aid sales and profitability of department
  • Manage direct reports, as well as workflow of hearing health representative
  • Set department pricing and negotiate device rates with manufacturers/purchasing group
  • Oversee and maintain current departmental records and policies/procedures
  • Manage contracts to ensure compliance
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices and market competition
  • Perform community outreach to propel mission, as needed

Patient Care

  • Evaluate, treat and counsel patients with hearing disorders to improve communication function
  • Work well with patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatrics
  • Provide hearing aid dispensing, including education, selection, fitting and ongoing management
  • Complete veteran C&P exams through VES contract

OSHA Hearing Conservation Program

  • Supervise industrial services technician and industrial coordinator
  • Meet OSHA-mandated hearing conservation guidelines for clients
  • Review and/or advise on all industrial audiograms
  • Complete work relatedness evaluations for industry clients

Newborn Hearing Screening Program

  • Hire and supervise part-time staff (newborn hearing screeners)
  • Maintain equipment and supplies for testing
  • Available on call for troubleshooting testing issues
  • Re-screen newborns in office who fail initial hospital hearing screening
