Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be a vital part of our practice, contributing to the efficient and effective delivery of patient care. This role encompasses a range of clinical and administrative responsibilities, requiring a blend of medical knowledge, organizational skills, and a strong commitment to patient satisfaction. Our clinic excels in both primary care and cardiovascular disease. You will be a key part of our team, supporting both patient care and clinic operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care and Support:
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and documenting current medications.
  • Assist physicians and other medical staff during examinations and procedures.
  • Administer injections and perform other clinical tasks as directed by the physician or NP/PA.
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other diagnostic tests.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for patient visits.
  • Provide patient education and answer basic patient questions under the supervision of the physician or NP/PA.
  • Phlebotomy
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Manage patient flow, ensuring efficient and timely completion of screenings and evaluations.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and follow-ups.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Assist with the processing of laboratory and imaging results.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including filing, faxing, and answering phones.
  • Inventory control and ordering of medical supplies.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication:
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with other team members and departments to ensure smooth workflow and continuity of care.
  • Work in conjunction with the attending physician, NP/PA, and front office staff.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in all clinic business and patient process flow functions.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
  • Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Strong clinical skills, including the ability to take vital signs, administer injections, and perform EKGs.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and EHR systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience in cardiovascular disease is a plus.
  • A commitment to patient-centered care.
