A nursing opportunity is available for an experienced Med/Surg RN with strong clinical skills, particularly in trauma care and telemonitoring. This position requires a dedicated Registered Nurse with at least two years of med/surg experience, recent EPIC charting knowledge, and the ability to provide compassionate care for post-surgical, high-risk patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to med/surg patients, including those with sepsis, COPD, CHF, and post-operative needs.
  • Manage advanced patient care tasks such as chest tube care, tracheostomy care, and administration of heparin drips and blood products.
  • Utilize strong assessment and critical thinking skills to respond to complex clinical situations.
  • Participate in unit float assignments across nearby campuses with adequate notice.
  • Support teaching initiatives by precepting students and new hires as required.
  • Chart patient information accurately using EPIC after completing required checkoff training.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active compact RN license.
  • Minimum two years of med/surg nursing experience, including trauma Level II and one travel assignment.
  • Current AHA BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications.
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system.
  • Experience handling a variety of clinical interventions including remote telemetry and ostomy care.
  • Excellent adaptability, resilience, and interpersonal skills.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Three weekends every six weeks and holiday rotations.
  • Guaranteed minimum 36 hours weekly, with option to request 48 hours.

Additional Information:
This is a 13-week contract position starting early April with bi-weekly orientation cycles. On-call and call-back are not required. The unit supports a 1:6-7 nurse-to-patient ratio at night with experienced leadership and CNA assistance. Strict adherence to dress code policies is expected.
