The Sous Chef plays a vital role in overseeing kitchen operations within a small Italian cuisine team of 1-5 members. Working shifts of 6-8 hours, the Sous Chef supports the head chef in menu creation while ensuring high standards in food preparation, quality, and safety compliance. This role requires leadership in managing staff and inventory to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Italian cuisine dishes according to recipes
- Manage daily kitchen operations and workflows
- Supervise and support kitchen staff to maintain productivity and standards
- Control inventory and order supplies as needed
- Ensure quality assurance of all food served
- Maintain safety and sanitation compliance within the kitchen
- Collaborate closely with the head chef on menu development
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in culinary arts
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Culinary Arts
- Expertise in culinary techniques, especially Italian cuisine
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
