Customer Care Representative Compensation
The pay for this position is $17 per hour
Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Customer Care Representative Highlights
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire permanently based on attendance, performance, and business needs
- Required availability: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
- This role may be onsite or remote, depending on location
Customer Care Representative Responsibilities
Effective delivery of company products and services (40%)
- Respond to telephone inquiries and orders from homecare patients and referral sources
- Provide information on equipment, supplies, and services; determine the best method for providing service
- Assist walk-in patients with selection of equipment, supplies, and services
Timely processing and facilitation of patient orders (30%)
- Process telephone orders by preparing patient paperwork
- Verify insurance coverage and other payment methods
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately to facilitate data entry, billing, and delivery
- Perform data entry and distribute order paperwork to appropriate personnel
- Assist with billing paperwork as needed
Coordination of patient services and supplies (10%)
- Coordinate delivery, setup, and pickup of equipment and supplies
- Ensure timely scheduling of deliveries and service setups
Documentation and recordkeeping (10%)
- Accurately maintain files of all patient account profiles and referral source data
Customer satisfaction and service resolution (10%)
- Resolve patient complaints by identifying issues and coordinating corrective action
- Demonstrate professionalism and empathy in all patient and provider interactions
Customer Care Representative Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 1–3 years of customer service or healthcare experience
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party vendors preferred
- Experience verifying insurance coverage and benefits for new and existing patients
- Understanding of insurance concepts including drug cards, major medical benefits, and per diem coverage
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems
Customer Care Representative Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in durable medical equipment (DME), pharmacy, or homecare setting
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered service
