Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team specializing in civil and earthworks projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and resources, ensuring that all bids are competitive while adhering to company standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil and earthworks projects
- Conduct takeoffs and analyze project blueprints and specifications
- Utilize estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid and AGTEK for efficient estimation processes
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to review project requirements and provide accurate estimates
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and construction methods
- Prepare and present detailed proposals and bid packages to clients
- Identify potential risks and opportunities in project planning and execution
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an estimator in civil and earthworks projects
- Strong knowledge of estimating techniques and methodologies
- Proficient in estimating software including HCSS Heavy Bid and AGTEK
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Familiarity with construction processes, including utilities, paving, grading, sewer, water, and underground construction is a plus
