This independent community pharmacy in Ogallala, Nebraska, is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist for a 13-week travel assignment with the opportunity for contract, temp-to-perm, or permanent placement. This full-time role involves supporting an established team amid increasing prescription volume due to the closure of nearby pharmacies. With plans to open a second location, the pharmacy values someone who can provide reliable support as one pharmacist transitions to this new site.
Schedule and Hours:
- 1st shift: 9:00 AM 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Some weekends as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and ensure safe, efficient delivery under manager supervision
- Counsel and advise patients on medication use and regimens
- Address patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints following organizational policies
- Maintain stock, controlled drug records, and inventories
- Resolve patient issues and clarify third-party insurance coverage
- Administer immunizations as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and clear Pharmacist license in Nebraska
- Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience; prior experience in retail preferred
- Proficiency with Liberty Rx software is an advantage
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to support and collaborate with a well-trained, long-standing team
Pharmacy Environment:
- Staff includes two pharmacists on weekdays and three on Sundays, supported by five experienced pharmacy technicians
- Handles over 10,000 prescriptions monthly
- Supportive team culture, ensuring any new pharmacist will be well-guided
