VAMC is seeking Medical Technologists to support laboratory and pathology services within a respected federal healthcare facility. This is an urgent contract with immediate hiring needs—ideal for candidates ready to step into a critical, patient-impacting role.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a mission-driven environment serving our nation’s veterans while gaining valuable federal healthcare experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing across all major departments (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.)
- Ensure accuracy, quality control, and compliance with established protocols
- Support pathology and laboratory medicine services onsite
- Respond to urgent testing needs and maintain timely turnaround
- Maintain proper documentation and adherence to regulatory standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
- Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) OR American Medical Technologists OR American Association of Bioanalysts
- Current BLS certification
- Must have worked within the last 6 months
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder required
- Ability to meet federal compliance and credentialing requirements
