Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: Full-Time Days with rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call
Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 annually

Position Overview:
A leading acute care hospital in Northern New Mexico is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU to join its Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality post-operative nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring patient stability, safety, and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect post-anesthesia patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
- Monitor patients’ physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs during recovery
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and communicate effectively with the care team
- Ensure safe recovery and stabilization of patients following surgical procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Document all patient care accurately and timely in medical records
- Support patient and family education regarding post-operative care and recovery
- Maintain adherence to hospital protocols, safety standards, and quality care guidelines
Requirements (Must-Haves):
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or compact state
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 3 months of hire
- Minimum 1 year of PACU or acute care nursing experience preferred
