Job Description

The Control Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving control systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing process control improvements. This role involves working with electrical systems, motion control, and robotics to enhance operational efficiency and ensure optimal performance of manufacturing equipment. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assure electronic controls are operational and spare parts are available.
  • Back up all programs and hook up laptop to PLC to assure proper operation.
  • Assist maintenance technicians in resolving problems when needed.
  • Perform maintenance duties as necessary.
  • Modify machines, including fabricating new parts when required.
  • Communicate with corporate controls engineer to resolve problems.
  • Analyze functions of older or failing parts/software to determine proper solutions.
  • Advise and train maintenance employees.
  • Ensure quality by continually monitoring for abnormalities and reporting them timely.
  • Follow company procedures and use materials and equipment per manufacturers' directions to ensure safety.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required or a combination of experience and education.
  • Proficiency in Process Control and experience implementing system improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of Electrical Engineering concepts and applications.
  • Hands-on expertise in troubleshooting equipment and systems.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing facility that is not climate-controlled year-round. Noise levels range from moderate to loud, necessitating hearing protection. The position requires frequent use of stairs, ladders, lifts, and industrial tools. The work environment emphasizes safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, offering exposure to advanced manufacturing equipment and reliability practices.

This is a Permanent position based out of Winston-Salem, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
