Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Polysomnographic Technologist to perform overnight sleep studies and provide high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting diagnostic and therapeutic sleep procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with established protocols and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification

Experience / Knowledge / Skills

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
  • Experience performing sleep studies, including CPAP/BiPAP titrations
  • Familiarity with sleep software systems (e.g., Natus Sleepworks)
  • Experience working with pediatric and adult populations preferred
  • Ability to lift 75–100 lbs occasionally and carry up to 30 lbs
  • Strong observational, technical, and patient care skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, competent, and age-appropriate patient care
  • Prepare and conduct overnight sleep studies, including:
    • Reviewing patient records and physician orders
    • Identifying sleep-related complaints
    • Assessing medications, caffeine/alcohol intake, and sleep patterns
  • Perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for diverse patient populations
  • Conduct CPAP/BiPAP titration studies as required
  • Ensure proper setup, calibration, and maintenance of sleep study equipment
  • Adhere to safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with organizational policies
  • Support quality care through effective time and resource management
  • Participate in continuing education and competency development
  • Serve as a mentor or resource for less experienced staff when needed
  • Contribute to a patient-centered environment by delivering compassionate and personalized care
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
