The Commercial Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing building components on commercial construction projects. This role requires the ability to read drawings, work safely on active job sites, and coordinate with other trades to meet project schedules and quality standards.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications
• Perform a wide range of commercial carpentry tasks, including:

Wood and metal stud framing

Drywall installation, backing, and finishing

Installation of doors, frames, and hardware

Casework, millwork, and finish carpentry

• Concrete forming and miscellaneous carpentry work
• Accurately measure, cut, and assemble materials to project requirements
• Complete layout work using tapes, levels, lasers, and other precision tools
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and jobsite equipment
• Coordinate daily tasks with foremen, superintendents, and other trade partners
• Maintain productivity while meeting quality standards and project schedules
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
• Adhere to company policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety requirements
• Assist with punch list completion and project closeout activities

*Other tasks may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).
• Prior experience working in commercial construction or general labor roles is a plus.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, shovels, compactors, and related equipment.
• Basic understanding of construction processes, job site safety, and common trade practices.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites required.
• Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, carrying, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Physical Demands

• Frequent sitting and manual tasks (typing, handling objects).

• Occasional movement: walking, climbing, bending, kneeling.

• Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.

• Visual acuity is needed for detailed work and spatial awareness.

• Must hear adequately to respond to verbal instructions, warning bells, and alarms.
