Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Manager & Copywriter to expand Project ALS' online presence, craft compelling content, and engage our growing community.
Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy & Management:
- Develop and implement a quarterly social media strategy to increase engagement and maintain a strong presence across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Align social media content with organizational messaging, fundraising campaigns, and awareness initiatives.
- Stay up to date with social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to keep content fresh and effective.
Content Creation & Copywriting:
- Write clear, engaging, and mission-aligned copy for social media posts, newsletters, website content, and promotional materials.
- Create visually compelling and thematically consistent graphics, videos, and infographics, to accompany written posts across platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create impactful messaging for events, initiatives, and additional programmatic content.
Content Calendar & Planning:
- Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent messaging and updates on a weekly basis.
- Work with the team to align content with key events, dates, and initiatives throughout the year.
Qualifications
- Passion for the Project ALS mission and advancing ALS research, and a desire to use social media to create positive social change.
- 2+ years of experience in social media management, copywriting, and/or digital marketing, preferably in a non-profit environment.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear and engaging copy for various platforms.
- Creative and proactive mindset, with the ability to think strategically about social media presence and messaging.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small, dedicated, mostly remote team.
Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $30-$35 per hour, commensurate with experience. We expect this role to require 15-20 hours per week.
