Job Description

Job DescriptionSOAR Autism Center is looking for an enthusiastic and client-centered Speech Language Pathologist to provide speech services to children with autism. SOAR is seeking candidates to work in a clinical setting and will work directly with clients aged from 2 to adulthood. This SLP will collaborate with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Occupational Therapists, behavior technicians, and caregivers, school staff, and other medical professions to provide a comprehensive treatment approach that is individualized to each client. This can be either a full time or part time position.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with patients for the first time in their speech journey, answering introductory questions
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with speech and language difficulties
  • Provide therapy sessions to improve speech, language, and communication skills
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Maintaining excellent records of patient needs, care, and outcome
  • Provide education and guidance to patients, families, and caregivers on speech and language disorders and strategies for improvement
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes
  • Work closely with the family of the patients and the patients itself to ensure they have the knowledge and tools they need for success

Qualifications

  • Active state license for practicing speech therapy
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong charting and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with basic computer programs, such as the Microsoft Office suite
