Our busy home health agency is rapidly growing, and we’re seeking an experienced Home Health Aide to assist us in providing superior in-home health care to clients. Our ideal candidate will have excellent organization and communication skills, and 1-3 years of experience working as an HHA or caregiver.


You’ll assist our patients with companionship, basic medical care, light housekeeping duties, personal care, and hygiene tasks so that they are empowered to live happily at home. Compensation:

$12 - $15 hourly

Responsibilities:

  • Stay on top of light housekeeping tasks including but not limited to laundry, bed making, vacuuming, etc.
  • Oversee medication tasks such as opening bottles, organizing self-administered dosing and arranging refills; and assist with meal preparation and planning
  • Transport patients as needed to doctor’s offices or other health care services, grocery shopping, or for other errands
  • Reinforce accurate and up-to-date care records and work with the case manager to implement the patient care plan
  • Implement ambulation methods, and assist patients in completing physical therapy and exercises as indicated in the care plan
  • Enables patients to stay in their homes by monitoring and recording patient condition, providing support and personal services, and teaching families
  • Monitors patient condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise
  • Supports patients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, preparing and serving meals and snacks, and running errands
  • Assists patients by providing personal services, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Helps patients care for themselves by teaching the use of a cane or walker, special utensils to eat, and special techniques and equipment for personal hygiene
  • Helps family members care for the patient by teaching appropriate ways to lift, turn, and reposition the patient
  • Advises on nutrition, cleanliness, and housekeeping
  • Records patient information by making entries in the patient journal and notifying the nursing supervisor of changes or unusual conditions
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment by following aseptic standards and procedures, maintaining security precautions, and following prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards
  • Protects the home care agency by adhering to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements
  • Enhances service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Qualifications:

  • First aid training and current CPR certification is needed and you must be able to pass a drug test, full employment background check, and physical
  • Empathetic, compassionate, and kind personality with excellent organization and communication skills are desired
  • Carry a valid state driver’s license, current auto insurance, and have reliable transportation
  • Conclusion of home health aide training programs from community colleges are acceptable - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) is a bonus
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required - some college is an asset
