JOB DESCRIPTION:
The U.S. Bank WCIB (Wealth, Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking) Marketing team is seeking a highly organized, proactive Project Manager to support cross‐team marketing working teams and establish the foundational structures needed for their long‐term success. This PM will play a critical role in defining and implementing governance frameworks, improving team accountability, structuring documentation and communication processes, and ensuring marketing initiatives move forward with clarity, alignment, and urgency.
This role is ideal for someone who excels at bringing order to complexity, partnering across stakeholder groups, and building repeatable processes that elevate how marketing teams plan, collaborate, and execute.
Key Responsibilities
1. Governance & framework development
- Establish consistent project management practices across all marketing initiatives.
- Develop and maintain core governance documents including charters, marketing plans, relationship maps, and working team role definitions.
- Build standardized templates, processes, and documentation structures to drive alignment and transparency.
- Implement centralized systems for document organization, version control, and knowledge sharing.
2. Working team enablement & accountability
- Define and clarify roles and responsibilities for each working team member, ensuring accountability is embedded from the start.
- Facilitate onboarding for new team members, ensuring they understand expectations, structures, and working norms.
- Create and maintain status reporting mechanisms to track progress, risks, decisions, and next steps.
- Partner with team leads to ensure goals and measures of progress are clear and consistently measured.
3. Operational excellence in meetings & communication
- Design and run effective meeting structures: agendas, facilitation, note‐taking, decision logs, and follow‐up tracking.
- Shift working teams away from “meetings for the sake of meetings” toward purposeful, outcome‐driven discussions.
- Establish consistent cadences for updates, check‐ins, and cross‐team communication.
- Ensure information flows smoothly across marketing, business partners, sales, and leadership.
4. Business acumen & strategic support
- Through documentation, help build understanding of business goals, customer segments, solutions, and key strategic priorities to help teams frame work effectively.
- Surface key questions, dependencies, and insights that help teams make informed decisions.
5. Driving timeliness & urgency
- Reinforce activation timelines, dependencies, and deadlines across all workstreams.
- Elevate risks proactively when timing or resources jeopardize delivery.
- Coach teams on behaviors that support urgency, accountability, and follow‐through.
- Support leadership in defining and communicating expectations around timeliness and execution standards.
Qualifications
· Proficient in Teams and Adobe Workfront or comparable project‐management platforms, with a strong ability to optimize workflows and drive cross‐team visibility.
· Experienced working within complex, matrixed organizations, collaborating across multiple functions and stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward.
· Skilled in account management, relationship management and project management, with prior experience in agency environments supporting diverse client needs.
