The Construction Project Accountant will play a vital role in managing the financial health of their customer construction projects, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance. You will collaborate with their project managers and stakeholders to optimize project financials and minimize risks.
Key responsibilities
- Process invoices and ensure timely payments: Handling invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests while ensuring customer project compliance.
- Reconcile project accounts and monitor cost allocation:
- Collaborate with project managers and their billing procedures:
- Manage contractual obligations: Understanding and enforcing contract terms related to billing, invoicing, change orders, and payment schedules.
Required qualifications
- Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with a preference in the construction industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300, Procore), including advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Construction Industry Knowledge: Understanding of construction accounting principles and online billing platforms such as Textura, AIA, Procore
- Problem solving Skills: problem-solving skills to dissect complex financial data, identify trends, and develop solutions to financial challenges.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with company project managers and clients,
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are crucial for maintaining the integrity of financial records and preventing errors.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects, deadlines, and financial documents efficiently.
Desirable qualifications
- Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) certifications are highly valued.
- Experience with specific construction-related software: Familiarity with tools like Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, Sage 300 CRE, TimberScan, or specialized project management software like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, is a plus.
· Pay $75K – 90K annual salary DOE
