Job DescriptionSalary:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of the CBCF Finance Manager, the Finance Specialist monitors facility compliance with finance laws, grant guidelines, county accounting procedures, and facility policies, procedures, and standards. This position provides proper accounting processes for the CBCF financial accounts. The Finance Specialist ensures efficient organization of the recording and filing of financial transactions. Maintains appropriate hard copy and computer-based files to ensure quick retrieval of documents, when necessary. The Finance Specialist is also responsible for the collection and disbursement of all funds pertaining to the residents of the facility as well as any reimbursements from service providers. This position is responsible for bank reconciliation as well as handling, ordering, and disbursing commissary items ordered by the residents and the paid commission received on their behalf. This position assists with maintaining proper accounting processes for the CBCF financial accounts and compiling statistical information. This role includes responsibilities for ensuring the highest standards of service delivery across all functional areas. Additionally, the role supports the programmatic purpose of the facility and assists in meeting the needs of the residents toward successful community reentry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work involves a significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, talking, listening, stooping, and reaching with hands and arms. Must be able to transfer up to fifty (50) pounds. Visual ability sufficient to operate equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to type 40 words per minute and have proficient computer skills. Required: associate degree in accounting or related field. Preferred: bachelors degree in finance or related field. Two years of financial accounting or accounts payable experience. Good interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Proficient in the use of computer applications including Word, Excel, QuickBooks, etc. Ability to quickly learn other cloud-based financial software applications. Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment within a team approach.Proven ability to analyze data, evaluate program effectiveness, and implement solutions to enhance program outcomes and operational efficiency.Possess a valid Ohio drivers license and have a good driving record.
