About the Role:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Consultant to join a remote HR Solutions Company. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for their diverse client base. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of payroll principles, regulations, and best practices, and be able to navigate multiple payroll systems with ease. You will be responsible for all aspects of payroll from A-Z, including processing, auditing, reporting, and compliance. Responsibilities:

  • Full Cycle Payroll Processing: Manage the complete payroll process from start to finish, including data entry, calculation of wages, taxes, and deductions, and generating paychecks.
  • Time and Attendance Management: Review and verify timesheets for accuracy, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws.
  • Payroll Audits: Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Wage/Hour Compliance: Understand and apply wage/hour regulations, including overtime calculations, exempt/non-exempt status, and rest/meal break requirements.
  • Payroll Reporting: Generate and analyze payroll reports for management review and decision-making.
  • Tax Compliance: Stay up-to-date on tax laws and regulations, and ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
  • System Management: Utilize and manage multiple payroll systems, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Employee Support: Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and provide excellent customer service.
  • Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor new payroll team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Special Projects: Handle special payroll-related projects, such as setting up payroll for new states or addressing issues related to class action lawsuits.

Qualifications:

  • Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Payroll Expertise: Strong understanding of payroll principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • System Proficiency: Experience working with multiple payroll systems, including ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, iSolved, Gusto
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve payroll issues effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills.
