Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time position is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a Setting 3 classroom. This contract role is based in Jersey City, NJ, and runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027. The position involves working with approximately 6-10 students, providing specialized instruction tailored to their unique learning needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with DCD and ASD
• Delivering instruction within a structured Setting 3 classroom environment
• Monitoring student progress and adapting strategies to promote learning and development
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and counselors
• Maintaining detailed records and documentation related to student performance and behavior

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Certification in Special Education, with expertise in DCD and ASD populations
• Experience teaching in a Setting 3 classroom or similar specialized education setting
• Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for students with developmental and cognitive disabilities
• Ability to manage a caseload of 6-10 students effectively
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
