OVERVIEW
As a General Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of our organization. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting, and contributing to the overall success of the finance team. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with various departments to ensure financial data integrity and compliance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Contribute to the month-end and year-end close processes, performing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, supporting the preparation of financial projections and reports.
- Prepare and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and information as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and provide support for financial analysis.
- Assist with tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filing of tax forms and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Relevant work experience in accounting or finance is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders.
CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES REQUIREMENTS
- No specific certifications or licenses are required, but pursuing or possessing certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is beneficial.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work extended hours during the week and on weekends is often required to meet deadlines
- Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or company events.
