We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to provide pediatric physical therapy services for Early Intervention (birth–3) or school-age students across home, school, and community settings on Long Island. The Physical Therapist will evaluate and treat children with gross motor delays, mobility limitations, neuromuscular conditions, orthopedic impairments, and functional movement challenges. This role focuses on improving strength, balance, coordination, endurance, and overall functional participation in daily routines and educational environments.

The Physical Therapist will collaborate with families, educators, service coordinators, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent, effective, and child-centered service delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for EI and school-age students
  • Provide direct physical therapy services in home-based EI and school-based or community settings
  • Address gross motor development, balance, strength, coordination, posture, gait, and mobility
  • Implement evidence-based, developmentally appropriate interventions to support functional movement
  • Collaborate with families, teachers, and related service providers to support carryover of skills
  • Complete required documentation including evaluations, session notes, and progress reports
  • Provide consultation and strategies to caregivers and school staff as appropriate
  • Maintain ethical and professional standards in accordance with New York State and APTA guidelines
    Qualifications
  • Current New York State Physical Therapist license required
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s degree from an accredited program
  • Pediatric experience preferred; EI and/or school-based experience a plus but not required
  • Ability to pass required background checks and clearances
  • Strong communication, organization, and clinical reasoning skills
  • Ability to work independently across multiple settings while collaborating with a team

Pay: $75–$85 per hour (based on experience, setting, and certifications)
