A healthcare role is available for a registered nurse with stepdown or progressive care unit (PCU) expertise. This contract opportunity is based in Aurora, CO, offering a dynamic clinical environment focused on transplant and stepdown patient care.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Med/Surg and telemetry nursing experience is essential
- Proven ability to manage patients requiring Heparin infusions and patient-controlled analgesia (PCA)
- Stepdown or PCU experience is highly preferred
- Experience with solid organ transplant patients (kidney, liver, or pancreas) is a valuable asset
- Skills in wound and drain care, including wound vacs, chest tubes, and Jackson-Pratt drains
- Reliable, adaptable, and able to multitask effectively in fast-paced settings

Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to a 34-bed transplant and stepdown unit
- Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 1:3 to 1:4, adjusting as required by census
- Utilize specialized equipment such as bladder scanners, Mobilabs, EKG machines, and Virtual Sitter Cameras
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Adhere to unit policies and procedures ensuring safety and compliance
Additional Details:
- This is a contract position
- Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM, providing consistent scheduling for work-life balance
