Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist – Special Procedures performs a variety of advanced radiologic procedures in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role is responsible for providing high-quality imaging support while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and care throughout diagnostic and interventional procedures, including those performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Responsibilities

Perform a variety of diagnostic and interventional radiologic procedures

Provide direct patient care and monitoring before, during, and after procedures

Ensure proper positioning, radiation safety, and equipment operation

Maintain compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals

Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols
Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, finger dexterity, visual acuity, hearing, and verbal communication
-
Continuous stooping/bending, reaching above and below shoulder level, gripping, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs
-
Frequent twisting, assisted lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying up to 40 lbs, repetitive arm/hand motions, and prolonged static gripping

Occasional sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven surfaces, and squatting
Work Environment

Exposure to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions

Cold temperatures due to air-conditioned clinical areas

Noise and vibration from imaging equipment

Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, radiation, chemicals, and mechanical/electrical equipment

Fast-paced, high-stress environment related to patient acuity and census
Minimum QualificationsEducation, Certification & Licensure

Active Hawaii State Radiologic Technologist license required
-
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Experience
-
Minimum one (1) year experience in an acute care facility preferred

Experience in special procedures or Cath Lab settings preferred
