The Facility Float Pool RN is responsible for delivering patient care by collaborating with various departments while upholding nursing standards, patient rights, and organizational policies. This position necessitates a valid nursing license, experience in acute care settings, and the physical capability to perform nursing tasks. This role employs the Nursing Professional Practice Model and the nursing process to ensure quality patient care. The RN maintains accountability for the care provided to assigned patients and coordinates their care alongside other departments. Upholding patient rights and maintaining confidentiality of patient information are essential aspects of this position. The RN operates within the framework of nursing education and adheres to established nursing practice guidelines, the organization's goals, the Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the State Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics, and the Co-Worker Code of Conduct. Responsibilities are carried out in alignment with our mission, values, and service standards.
Position Details:
Education: Completion of a state-approved professional nursing program.
Licensure: Active RN license with the State Board of Nursing in the relevant state or a current temporary work permit in the applicable state.
Certification/Registration: BLS certification required.
Other Skills: Familiarity with unit-specific equipment.
Preferred Experience: A minimum of one year of nursing experience in acute care, with at least six months of this experience occurring within the last year.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Prolonged standing and walking are required throughout each shift.
• Capability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to fulfill job responsibilities.
