Job Summary
- Installation, Repairs, adjustments and training of specialty printers and software used in production at customer locations throughout the Southeast US.
General Accountabilities
- Installation, Service, training and repairs on specialty and wide format printers such as banner printers, printers for wraps, signage, stickers and more.
- Driving a Truck and Trailer to transport and deliver equipment
- Evaluate printers so that problems can be diagnosed, and repairs can be made.
- Traces electrical circuits, following diagrams, and conducts tests with circuit testers and other equipment to locate shorts and grounds.
- Replaces worn and defective parts such as cap tops, print heads, cables, boards or components.
- Troubleshoot with customers by phone, dial in or schedule onsite repairs of printer malfunctions.
- Reassembles printers after repairs are made, making adjustments and cleaning and lubricating parts as needed.
- Records maintenance and repair work performed on equipment.
- Provides repair cost estimates, and recommends whether printer repair or replacement is a better choice.
- Maintains stocks of parts used in on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of printing equipment.
- Observes and examines printer during operation to detect specific malfunctions such as loose parts or print quality.
- Observes and tests operation of printers following installation, and makes any initial installation adjustments that are necessary.
- Refers to schematic drawings, product manuals, and troubleshooting guides in order to diagnose, identify parts and repair problems.
- Instructs customers regarding operation and care of equipment, and provides information such as emergency service numbers.
- Assembles new or reconditioned printers.
- Cleans, lubricates, and touches up minor defects on newly installed or repaired appliances.
- Bills customers for repair work, and collects payment.
