George Junior Republic (GJR) was established in 1909 to serve at-risk youth. Today, the organization serves male and female youth and adults across a continuum of programming through GJR, GJR in Pennsylvania, GJR in Indiana, and Preventative Aftercare, Inc.
To that end, the organization seeks an experienced Part-Time Transcriptionist to support the psychiatry department.
Summary: The Transcriptionist is responsible for transcribing audio files for the organization's psychiatrist/medical staff.

Description of Duty
Audio Transcription
- Accurately transcribe audio recordings, such as dictations, into written or digital documents.
- Use transcription tools, such as foot pedals, software, and other word processing programs to enhance productivity.
- Complete transcription in a timely manner.
Proofreading and Editing
- Review transcripts for grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors to ensure a high-quality product.
Medical Terminology
- Stay abreast of medical terminology used to complete job tasks effectively and efficiently.

- Other duties as assigned.

Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and walk. Must be able to hear through the headphones of the transcription machine.
