We are looking for a detail-oriented bilingual Office Assistant to join our team in San Luis Obispo, California. In this role, you will provide vital administrative and clerical support to ensure the organization operates smoothly and efficiently. As part of a nonprofit environment, your contributions will directly support the delivery of essential services to clients.
Responsibilities:
• Record initial information from prospective clients to assist subsidy and resource referral teams.
• Perform a variety of clerical tasks including data entry, filing, faxing, and managing incoming and outgoing mail.
• Provide backup assistance for childcare information and referral inquiries as needed.
• Assemble, organize, and distribute program materials to support agency initiatives.
• Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to collaborative efforts.
• Manage and replenish office supplies, ensuring forms and materials are readily available.
• Utilize computer applications for word processing and spreadsheet tasks to complete assignments.
• Adhere to safety protocols to safeguard yourself, coworkers, and patrons.
• Complete additional administrative duties as assigned to meet organizational needs.
• At least 1 year of experience in an administrative or clerical role.
• Proficiency in receptionist duties, including answering inbound calls and directing inquiries.
• Strong skills in document scanning and data entry with high attention to detail.
• Ability to perform general clerical tasks such as filing and processing mail.
• Familiarity with office software, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage supplies and maintain an orderly workspace.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members.
• Commitment to following safety practices and organizational policies.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
